We have an affinity for Asian flavor - bright, bold, clean, refreshing. This cocktail is all of that.
1 stalk of lemongrass
1 cup of sugar
1 cup of water
In a small sauce pan dissolve 1/2 cup of sugar in 1/2 cup of water over medium heat. Chop 1 stalk of lemongrass - only the white part. Add lemongrass to the pan and simmer for 5 minutes. Strain and set aside to cool.
Chop 1/4 of a peach and muddle in a small pitcher. Fill pitcher with ice then add: 1oz of gin, 1oz of lemongrass syrup, 1oz of sake. Stir, strain into a martini glass. Garnish with a wedge of peach.
